How to maintain an idle mining electric locomotive?

2022-06-08

We know that mining electric locomotives should have daily maintenance and regular inspection and maintenance of small, medium and large locomotives when they are working. So should we maintain the electric locomotive when it is idle?

The answer is yes. Customers often report that the electric locomotive cannot work normally after being idle for several months or even more than a year due to production reduction or vehicle rotation. Therefore, the maintenance of the electric locomotive when it is idle is also very important.

The maintenance of the electric locomotive when it is idle is mainly divided into three parts: the whole, the motor, and the battery.

Before idling, a comprehensive maintenance should be done on the car body, including touch-up paint, spraying anti-rust paint, etc., mainly to avoid rust on the electric locomotive.

The motor should indeed be stopped. Fill the tank with new diesel and even add a preservative to keep the tank from rusting. Every month, the electric locomotive should be started regularly for a short distance to ensure the functional performance of the electric locomotive and the motor. Except at this time, the cooling water in the electric motor should be drained.

The battery should be removed and placed in a dry, frost-proof place and kept clean. It should also be charged once a month.

The above is about whether and how to maintain the electric locomotive when it is idle.
