How to shorten the braking distance of mining electric locomotive?

Mining electric locomotive is a common track traction equipment in mines. Since it is a vehicle used for transportation, in addition to the capacity, the two performance indicators of starting and braking are naturally also very important. Especially for braking, too long a braking distance not only affects production efficiency. When emergency braking is required, if the braking distance is too long, the purpose of emergency braking may not be achieved, resulting in accidents. So how to improve the braking performance of mining electric locomotives and shorten the braking distance of mining electric locomotives?

Firstly, according to the braking principle of mining electric locomotives, the braking force depends on the friction between the brake shoe and the wheel, and the friction between the wheel and the track. The former is the magnitude of the actual braking force, and the latter is the upper limit of the braking force, which is similar to the adhesion traction. Obviously, according to the braking principle, the way to shorten the braking distance of mining electric locomotives is to make the actual braking force as close as possible to the upper limit of the braking force. The specific method is as follows:

1. Increase the adhesion coefficient of mining electric locomotives, such as using sand spreading devices, and putting wear-resistant rubber tires on wheels, etc.

2. Increase the adhesion quality of mining electric locomotives.

Secondly, it is also possible to strengthen the braking effect by increasing the number of brake cars, instead of only relying on a locomotive head of the mining electric locomotive to brake the entire mine car. Such as the use of mine carts with brakes.

The last thing is to shorten the "reaction time" of the braking device of mining electric locomotives - the time from stepping on the brakes to the time when the brake shoes and the wheels fit together, that is, the empty travel time.

The above is the method to shorten the braking distance of mining electric locomotives.
