Trouble shooting method of electric locomotive traction motor for mine

2021-06-30
Electric motors are irreplaceable for mining electric locomotives. They are a prerequisite to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. However, due to various factors, the electric motor has problems of this kind, which makes the equipment unable to start and affects the normal operation of the machine. Progress, so the following is to teach you some common methods to deal with motor failures. Abnormal noise in the motor:
1. The armature bearing is damaged, the radial clearance exceeds the allowable value, and the commutator is in contact with the housing. Solution: Remove the motor and replace the armature bearing.
2. The bearing is short of oil or there are impurities in the lubricating oil. Treatment method: If there is a shortage of oil, you can use a grease gun or a hand-tightened oil ounce to inject oil into the bearing; if there are impurities in the oil, remove the bearing and clean it.
3. The gap between the brushes in the brush holder is too large and the pressure fails, causing the brushes to swing or jump in the brush holder. Treatment method: Replace with a new brush of the same brand as the original one. Adjust the brush pressure.
4. The armature has a large amount of shaking in the bearing, and the fixed pole shoe bolts are loose, causing the pole shoe and the armature to contact and friction. Solution: Replace the armature bearing and tighten the pole shoe bolts.
5. The armature tie wire falls off, and the tie wire directly contacts and rubs with the magnetic gap, the magnetic pole, or the motor shell. Treatment method: re-bind the cable tie.

Motor overheating: The common overheating of the motor during operation mainly includes the overheating of the armature coil, the overheating of the commutator and the overheating of the motor casing.
1. The motor load is too large.
1. There are too many mine cars pulled by the electric locomotive, and they are running for a long time in the starting state;
2. The transmission gear is not well engaged;
3. The gear cover is loose or deformed to cause friction between the wheel set, transmission gear and the gear cover;
4. The gap between the brake pads is too small, and the wheel set and the brake pads are in a friction state during the operation of the electric locomotive. Treatment method: first find out the number of mine carts pulled by the electric locomotive, and pull the quantitative mine carts as required. The electric locomotive is not allowed to drive in the starting state for a long time; the control handle should be placed in the running position; the bite gap of the transmission gear should be adjusted correctly, and lubricating oil is often applied; tighten the bolts of the gear cover to keep the gear cover reasonable The shape and the sufficient clearance between the gear and the cover; adjust the clearance of the brake block to 3~5mm.
2. A short circuit between a coil or turn of the armature causes the armature winding to overheat. Treatment method: remove the motor, pull out the armature, check, find out the short-circuit coil.
3. A strong spark occurs on the surface of the commutator, and the brush pressure is too high, causing the commutator to overheat. Identifying commutator overheating is generally determined by observing the color and burn marks on the commutator surface. If the surface of the commutator is dark purple and dull, it proves that the brush pressure is too high. If the edge of the commutator is burnt, the commutator is scorched, the brush and brush holder shell are burnt, and there is copper powder on the commutator and brush holder, it means that a strong spark occurs on the surface of the commutator, which causes the commutator to heat up.

Approach:
1. Use a spring balance to adjust the pressure of the electric brush.
2. It is to find out the cause of sparks and eliminate sparks.
3. There is a short circuit in the excitation winding, and the motor speed increases at this time, causing the motor to overheat. Treatment method: In view of the damage of the coil, add insulation treatment or replace with a new coil.
4. The armature bearing is short of oil, or the amount of oil is too much. The bearing radial clearance is too small or deflection makes the motor casing overheat. Solution: Reassemble the bearing, keep the radial clearance reasonable, and fill the bearing with a proper amount of lubricating oil.

The above are the troubleshooting methods of the electric locomotive motors for mining. If you master these methods, you can solve this problem in time when you encounter this type of failure in the future.
