        There are two common types of mining electric locomotives: overhead cable electric locomotives and battery electric locomotives.
        The power supply mode of the overhead cable electric locomotive is that the current enters the locomotive after passing through the transformer, supplies power to the electric motor, and then flows back through the track. There are two commonly used voltages in underground mines and open-pit mines in China, namely 250V, 550V and 550V, 750V.
        Its advantages are the simple structure of the overhead cable electric locomotive, high power efficiency, strong transportation capacity, and fast speed. Therefore, the overhead cable electric locomotive has low cost, convenient maintenance, very wide application, and low transportation cost. And because it is powered by overhead wires (cables), there is no endurance trouble.
        Its shortcomings also mainly come from the power supply method. The use of overhead cable electric locomotive must first carry out supporting construction, and the rectifier equipment and overhead line facilities must be built, so the initial investment is relatively large. And the wiring has a certain impact on the size of the roadway and the safety of pedestrians. Electric sparks are also prone to occur between the pantograph and the wire, so it is not allowed to be used in the mines of Vasto.
        The battery electric locomotive directly supplies power to the traction motor through the battery.
        Its advantage is that it can get rid of the constraints of wiring, and it has advantages under the conditions of small output and irregular roadways, and does not require much construction in the initial stage. And because it is powered directly by the battery, there is no danger of sparks to detonate the gas, and the use environment is more flexible.
        The defect is also due to the battery. Wherever batteries have power limits, they need to be recharged. Therefore, each battery electric locomotive generally needs to be equipped with 2-3 sets of battery packs and equipped with charging equipment. When the power is used to a certain extent, you should replace the charged battery and charge the battery. Therefore, its electricity efficiency is relatively low.
